Beautiful grasslands, stunning viewpoints, fresh and cool air, pure water streams, dense forest makes your walk a memorable and pleasant activity. 4 to 6 hour walk in a day includes a visit to a tribal village and a best lunch time in between makes it fantastic to make you feel to do it again and again.
Trekking in Nilgiris
As you might be aware that the Nilgiris is one of the most picturesque spots in South India. This is the meeting point of both Eastern and Western Ghats which harbors a wide variety of flora and fauna. The Nilgiris has unique mixture of both tropical and temperate climate. The Nilgiris is one of the first Biosphere Reserve in India declared by UNESCO.
We conduct Trekking activity in Ooty outskirts which is around 4km from the town. The journey will be via picturesque spots, beautiful grasslands, stunning view points, unique tribal village and beautiful mountain views which will leave you fantastic memories.
The journey will be guided by a professional guide from a tribal village to give you the real experience with genuine knowledge about the place and the tribal people living there. You can interact with the tribals there without hurting their sentiments and respect! The guide is a research student and assisted BBC documentaries on the Nilgiri heritage train and tribal culture.
4 to 6 hours based on the tourists skillset.
The path will also be customized based on the group fitness level and expectations.
We conduct Trekking in Kotagiri outskirts which is around 5km from the town. The journey will be via dense rain forest, crossing a archaeological site, looking scenic views and ending with a beautiful tribal village.
The journey will be guided by a veteran bird and wildlife expert in the Nilgiri district. He is an expert in guiding birdwatching tourists accompanying foreigners most of the times. His articles and views are everywhere in the newspapers, magazines and tv channels about birds and wildlife. So high professional knowledge sharing is guaranteed!
Instructions for Trekker:
4 to 8 people groups preferred for maximum experience and effective learning.

Trekking outfit ( Avoid white, Black, Red and Yellow coloured Dresses)
- Cotton Shirt
- Cotton pant / Jeans
- Sun Hat or Cap
- Good Grip Trekking shoes
- Two pair of Socks
- Rain Sheet or Coat (If it is Rain day)
Be friendly to the mother nature, avoid the following
- Cell phones
- Music system
- Smoking in the forest
- Screaming in the forest
- Pulling out any plants / shrubs etc
- Writing on the rock / tree
- Specimen collection from the forest
Arthritis, Rheumatism, Blood Pressure and Diabetes Patients are not allowed
Mobile towers will not be reliable in the most of the wild landscapes of the Nilgiris.
You will need at least one whole day to experience it. So plan accordingly.
